What is the BAST Method?
BAST research has shown that there are many health benefits to spending regular periods of time in a deep relaxed state. Therapeutic sound healing creates a huge sense of rejuvenation and wellbeing, helping with releasing and clearing any built-up stress, overwhelm or exhaustion.
The Sound Bath
I start by playing the Himalayan singing bowls then gently transition to Crystal singing bowls for about 35 minutes. The last ten minutes is a therapeutic percussion sequence in which I play chimes, a rain stick, Koshi's and shakers which get gradually louder and progressively stronger, ending in silence.
The percussion session is designed to bring you back from a relaxed state to a normal waking state and has its origins in shamanic drumming circles.
The session lasts approximately 45 minutes. You will have as long as you need to gently come out of the meditation once all the sound has stopped.
